EBA has planned and designed numerous types of developments; the most complex are those that require a combination of uses. Combinations of commercial, retail, education, cultural, healthcare, and transportation are examples of blended developments for which we have provided design and planning services. The settings are urban and suburban and relate directly to today’s transit-oriented and green environment initiatives. EBA utilizes performance standards, phasing plans, zoning analysis, traffi c studies, demographic analyses, site layout, and building design to create environments that benefi t the user and the community.

Our approach to planning incorporates an integrated process based on data analytics and forecasting, consideration of facility strategic plans, facility assessments and surveys, and stakeholder input. An assessment of market and client-specifi c factors is the foundation of our planning and programming approach. We identify needs based on a combination of workload projections, determination of space gaps, functional analysis based on industry best practices, benchmarks, demographics, trends, standards, and stakeholder interviews. EBA’s projects have ranged in size from site planning for a single building on 10 acres or less, to large campuses with more than 150 acres and over 1 million square feet of space.

EBA maintains a client and user-focused approach to plan and design housing projects. Our commitment to quality, community driven design has yielded work with organizations across the United States ranging from non-profi ts to private developers to major corporations. In the D.C. Metro area, we have worked with MANNA, Inc., Development Corporation of Columbia Heights, Horning Brothers, and People’s Involvement Corporation. We are also skilled with public approval processes, and have presented major development projects to public entities including, the National Capitol Planning Commission, National Capital Park and Planning Commission, D.C. City Council, Local Historic Organizations, D.C. Historic Preservation Review Board, and the Montgomery County Zoning Board.
